More than 15 years of service
The Belgo-Lux Association of Cricket Umpires was founded in 1995 as an independent body representing the interests of umpires based in Belgium and Luxembourg. Some 15 years on, BLACU comprises around 30 active umpires and continues to foster the profession of umpiring with a strong dedication to continuous improvement.
At BLACU, we firmly believe that good umpiring is essential to good cricket. Which is why we are resolutely committed to maintaining the highest possible standards of umpiring. As well as organizing courses, examinations and accreditation, BLACU has an active policy of encouraging good coordination and communication between umpires.
BLACU is responsible for umpiring appointments for all national league matches in Belgium and Luxembourg and coordinates with regional and international bodies such as ICC-Europe regarding international fixtures held in the Belux. BLACU umpires have an excellent reputation both at home and abroad and are regularly called on to officiate, for example, in the Dutch leagues as well as European junior and senior tournaments.
Membership of BLACU is free and open to anyone with an active interest in umpiring in the Belux. For more information about the activities of the association or to join, please contact us.
